Research has demonstrated that children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) have significant structural and functional changes in the brain, even though there can be little if any overt physical manifestation of the alcohol exposure. The effects from prenatal drug and alcohol exposure may include physical, mental, behavioral, and/or learning disabilities with possible lifelong implications.
