This session is developed primarily for new associate faculty. All associate faculty are welcome and can benefit from this workshop. Don’t miss a wonderful opportunity to gain critical information that can decrease new instructor stress! Your faculty colleagues will answer questions about your first semester at Butte College and provide information about record keeping, rosters, grades, and so on.

The CTE Caucus is a new idea from the Academic Senate Exec. We hope to build a stronger CTE faculty voice in shared governance, to inform faculty on initiatives, committees, and task forces impacting CTE areas, and to identify issues of common concern. We hope that this time during FLEX Week will be friendly to your schedules and allow you to engage with the Senate in a new and effective way.

Diego James Navarro, Professor Emeritus at Cabrillo College and the founder of the Academy for College Excellence (ACE), helps colleges implementing Guided Pathways to adopt proven strategies that instill cultures of dignity and belonging inside an outside the classroom. The approach utilizes evidence-based solutions by providing evidence-based professional development workshops using affective strategies. Diego is providing a number of professional development opportunities at Butte as part of Light to Inspire. Light to Inspire professional development opportunities are a partnership between CASA and Dash to Success, reflecting a prioritization of fostering an equitable and compassionate environment at Butte College. Diego’s evidence based approach to professional development results in creating a campus culture where students feel they belong and experience psychological safety. The primary goal of Light to Inspire is to support the establishment of an equity minded culture of dignity through experiential affective-based professional development.  To find out more visit Light to Inspire - Butte College.
