9-10:20am. The CTE Caucus is a new idea from the Academic Senate Exec. We hope to build a stronger CTE faculty voice in shared governance, to inform faculty on initiatives, committees, and task forces impacting CTE areas, and to identify issues of common concern. We hope that this time during FLEX Week will be friendly to your schedules and allow you to engage with the Senate in a new and effective way.

9-9:50am. Ibram X. Kendi's concept of antiracism reenergizes and reshapes the conversation about racial justice in America--but even more fundamentally, points us toward liberating new ways of thinking about ourselves and each other. Instead of working with the policies and system we have in place, Kendi asks us to think about what an antiracist society might look like, and how we can play an active role in building it. | |
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM | Polling Classroom Responses with Poll Everywhere FLEX # 455
9-10:20am. Ever wonder if you are getting through to your students in the moment? Classroom Response Systems (CRS) allow you to pose questions to your students on the fly so that they can answer with their mobile devices using wifi or text. Responses can be shown immediately and used to inform in the moment pedagogical decisions. Come join Michelle Kelley and Mike Matiasek from the Academic Technology Committee who will introduce to you the basics of CRS’s and how to use Poll tool in the Zoom platform and the Poll Everywhere CRS platform that has a free option. We will finish with a hands on session so you leave the session knowing how to create polls in Poll Everywhere. We will also mention a related assessment tool, PlayPosit.

Parents and caregivers will learn the 7 basic discipline skills and 7 powers for self-control that turn conflict into cooperation.
