Event Description: FLEX # 501.xx
Do you ever feel stuck in your thoughts, not quite sure what to do? Are you feeling a little stress in your day? Mind, a mental health charity in England, carried out extensive research a few years ago which showed how walking in the countryside could help reduce depression and anxiety. In their survey, they reported that 71% of respondents felt decreased depression and less tense, while 90% felt their self-esteem increase after a country walk. Come join Biology Instructor and Friends of the Refuge Advisor, Kelly Wood, for an hour of flex credit while on a perimeter hike along the buttes and creeks of the Wildlife Refuge. During our hikes you can de-stress and share innovative ideas and strategies with colleagues. Hikes will be held regularly on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 9:50 am. Meet at the concrete bench just outside LS108 of the Life Sciences building. Be sure to bring sturdy shoes, sun protection, and water. |
