8:30 AM - 11:30 AM Resiliency Zone Training: Self-Care
FLEX # 510.6
The goal of this training is to introduce the CRM Community Resilience Model and help create “resiliency-focused” spirit in the workplace. You will gain common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach while at work or at home. The “Resilient Zone” may get bumped out of its natural rhythm and the capacity to handle even daily life events may be difficult.
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Butte College Art Gallery Beyond the Year
The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition by muralist, Shane Grammer.  This exhibition will be on display from November 7 – December 12, 2019, in the Butte College Art Gallery on the Main Campus.

Shane Grammer is a Los Angeles based painter and muralist who made a name for himself during the aftermath of the California Camp fire. Grammer frequented the ruins of the Paradise, CA fire and created prolific and inspirational murals amongst the wreckage. Primarily portrait based, Grammer’s work populated the open walls and chimneys of what were homes and businesses before the fire erupted.

Shane Grammer has joined Butte College in the Butte College Art Gallery in the remembrance and celebration of the fire in “Beyond the Year.” Images of his mural work will be represented in the gallery and he will be speaking about this work and his journey and process at 5:00p.m.

Please join us by coming together to celebrate Shane Grammer, his contribution to our community and his artwork in the Butte College Art Gallery Thursday November 7, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and will present live music, food and refreshments.

The Butte College Art Gallery is located on the main Butte College campus, 3536 Campus Drive, in the new ARTS Building (ARTS 106) closest to parking lot 3. Gallery Hours: Monday & Wednesday 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. & Tuesday & Thursday 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact the Butte College Department of Art, Digital Art & Design, 530-895-2404.

9:00 AM - 9:50 AM Chat and Trek Therapy
FLEX # 501.xx
Do you ever feel stuck in your thoughts, not quite sure what to do? Are you feeling a little stress in your day? Mind, a mental health charity in England, carried out extensive research a few years ago which showed how walking in the countryside could help reduce depression and anxiety. In their survey, they reported that 71% of respondents felt decreased depression and less tense, while 90% felt their self-esteem increase after a country walk.  Come join Biology Instructor and Friends of the Refuge Advisor, Kelly Wood, for an hour of flex credit while on a perimeter hike along the buttes and creeks of the Wildlife Refuge. During our hikes you can de-stress and share innovative ideas and strategies with colleagues. Hikes will be held regularly on Tuesdays from 9:00 to 9:50 am. Meet at the concrete bench just outside LS108 of the Life Sciences building. Be sure to bring sturdy shoes, sun protection, and water.
10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Giving Back Tuesday
Giving Back Tuesday is an opportunity for our campus to come together and show our “BC Pride” by giving back to what we care about most.

Please join us by donating online or attending our Giving Tuesday open house event on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the 3rd floor of Butte College’s Student and Administrative Services Building.

Enjoy refreshments and take a photo with Dash! Don’t forget to share your photos and what you are giving to by including #ButteGivingTuesday on social media.
