Event Description: FLEX # 662.2
The Butte College Native American Club and the Culture & Community Center would like to invite the campus community to “Native American Life on Television,” a presentation by Amanda Runyan, Butte College English professor. Native American stories have been told on screen for a century, but historically these stories and images have been deeply flawed. This talk considers Native American life on television, and how current television created by Native writers and actors engages visual sovereignty, a creative act of self-representation. Please register in advance using this link. For questions or more information, please contact the Culture & Community Center. |
