Event Description: FLEX # 510.3
In this class, we look at ways to regulate anxiety and its impacts on our central nervous system. The class provides a number of tools for both soothing and strengthening our ability to remain calm and care for ourselves in stressful situations. Simple and practical activities are provided that will help in keeping the fight, flight, and freeze response to a minimum when stressful stimuli trigger the sympathetic nervous system. We will also take a self-assessment related to our mind, body, spirit, and emotional lives that will allow us to evaluate each. Lastly, we will explore case studies related to each of these areas of mind, body, spirit, and emotion, identifying skills and tools that will help in self-care related to each of these key areas for healthy living. |
