Event Description: FLEX # 123
Glassblowing is a glass forming technique which was invented by the Syrian craftsman in the 1st century BCE. Glass exists as sand-like powder, a dripping, molten taffy, and hard/sharp if shattered. The ability to be many different things can be a strength, and such is true for many working artists as well. David Smallhouse, a former Vietnam veteran, led a full career as a glass artist for over 4 decades. His interests in color, form, tradition, function, nature, and abstraction are illustrated in this selection from his personal collection. Join the artist and enjoy conversation, refreshments, and entertainment from the Butte College Music Department! |
