During the second week of school our goal is to connect you with a variety of campus resources that promote mental and physical wellness. Learning about these resources and services may be a vital tool during your time at Butte College.
Wellness Scavenger Hunt | Aug 28-31
Students who visit all 5 wellness stations will be entered to win a FREE comprehensive health exam, Renew Day Spa Gift Card, or Tea Bar Fusion Cafe Gift Card. Visit Mental Health in SAS 110 to get started!
Rejuvenation Station | Aug 28
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Campus Center Lounge
Kick-off Wellness Week with an afternoon of self-care and wellness activities! Students can enjoy a FREE 5-minute massage, journaling areas, FREE snacks, begin the Wellness Scavenger Hunt, and meet with staff from Butte College Health & Wellness Services.
Pop-up Pantry | Aug 29
11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Campus Center Lounge
Pop over to the Roadrunner Hub pop-up pantry event, where we bring the food to you! Enjoy a pre-made bag of groceries, some light refreshment, decorate your own cup to go, and learn how CalFresh can keep your pantries stocked at home.
Forest Therapy Walks | Aug 29 & 31
3 Start times: 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. Meet in front of the LRC
A forest therapy walk is a gentle sensory practice that adapts to the needs of the participant and is designed to support wellness by connecting to nature. Walks can be fun, reflective, profound or simple. Your certified forest therapy guide will adapt the walk to all levels of mobility and accessibility. Prepare for warm weather.
Eat the Frog - CAS Time Management | Aug 29 & 30
10 a.m. - 11 a.m. in LRC 230 (inside CAS)
Struggle with procrastination? Lose track of time? CAS will help you tackle those obstacles that stand between you and good time management. As Mark Twain put it, "If it’s your job to eat a frog, it’s best to do it first thing in the morning.”
Learn to Make a Zine | Aug 30 & 31
12 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Lounge
Time to get creative during a mini-zine (pronounced ‘z.e.e.n’) making workshop! Participants will learn the fun and approachable art form of single-sheet mini-comics. The prompt for the workshop is “My Goals for the School Year”. All art supplies provided.
Financial Fitness with CASA & TRIO | Aug 29
2 p.m. - 3 p.m. in Career Center (SAS 259)
Learn how you can manage your bills and expenses by creating a budget. Interactive workshop and an open discussion on managing your money while in college and beyond. Participants will leave with a sample budget to help them be financially prepared for the 2023-2024 year.
