9:00 AM - 10:00 AM How to Write an SLO
FLEX # 110
9-9:50am. Learning outcomes abound at Butte College, and while many seem clearly measurable, others might feel a bit "fuzzy." We have common ground in writing good outcomes but are there principles that can guide us? This workshop says "yes" and will present some of those principles in a relaxed, quirky, offbeat session. No toil, just a SLO boil!

11:00 AM - 12:30 PM History of Fire in California
FLEX # 112
11am-12:20pm.  Charcoal records indicate fire has been a part of California ecosystems for millions of years. Throughout this timeline, fire magnitude, spacial, and temporal characteristics have not stayed the same. Fire changed as California ecosystems evolved and were influenced by the first people and beyond. Understanding how fire has changed over the more recent millennia is the key to our predictions of future fire in California. This workshop will overview the history of how fire has changed from the pre-settlement to post-settlement time periods and how that in combination with fire policy has lead to our current intensified fire regimes.

11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Peer Evaluator Training
FLEX # 300
11am-12:50pm.  Evaluation training is mandated by faculty contract once a full-time faculty member reaches tenure. The training session must take place before a newly-tenured instructor serves on an evaluation team for a colleague, and the workshop also serves as a good review of the evaluation process for any instructor or administrator.
