11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Personal Wildfire/Emergency Action Plans
FLEX # 506
11-11:50am.  California is one of the most diverse, productive, and fun places to live. However, in the last 5 years it has seen the most destructive, deadly, and largest fires on record. When a wildfire breaks out firefighters focus on saving lives first and property second. Firefighters are well trained for what to do when an emergency breaks out, but what about the millions of California residents? Due to the fire statistics in the last five years, a lot of residents are now looking for reliable information on what they should do in an emergency, even outside of fire. However, because so many communities live in a variety of circumstances (WUI communities, suburban, and even urban) it is difficult to have one broad plan that works for everyone. Thus, it is important that you understand what type of community you live in so you can create the most appropriate personal wildfire/emergency action plan as possible. This will be the main objective of this workshop!
