Love Over Labels is an interactive training designed to eliminate the stigma surrounding Foster Youth. Foster Youth often bear the weight of their traumatic experiences, which may manifest as anger, depression, and lack of motivation. However, this training aims to highlight the resilience that resides within Foster Youth and their capacity to overcome trauma. By presenting a youth panel, participants will gain an understanding of the tools that have aided Foster Youth in their journey to develop resilience. Ultimately, our goal is to educate faculty, staff, and students on the impacts of trauma and labeling within the Foster Youth community and empower them to use language that promotes love and support.

Join Butte College Instructor Dr. Joseph Krulder, a veteran of the United States Navy and a British historian, for a lecture on: The Royal Navy’s 1755 Pre-emptive Strike. The lecture will take place at King's College in London and anyone can register to join virtually. Dr. Joseph Krulder earned his doctorate at the University of Bristol studying under Dr Richard Sheldon and Professor Ronald Hutton. Dr. Krulder also worked closely with Nicholas Rogers to produce his recently published book with Routledge, The Execution of Admiral John Byng as a Microhistory of Eighteenth-Century Britain (2021), now in paperback. This King's Maritime History Seminar will be held online and in-person. For those joining online, the Zoom link will be sent by email two days before the event. | |
