Main Campus
9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Learning Zoom
FLEX # 754.6
Collaborate more seamlessly using Zoom, the popular video conferencing tool. In this course, staff instructor Garrick Chow shows how to schedule, moderate, and participate in Zoom meetings. Garrick begins by showing how to set up your Zoom account and adjust audio and video settings. Next, he walks through joining and participating in meetings scheduled by others. Garrick covers how to use a variety of options during meetings such as adjusting views, muting your microphone, turning your video camera on and off, and sharing your screen. Finally, Garrick demonstrates how to host your own Zoom meetings, from scheduling and adjusting moderator settings to recording meetings.
10:30 AM - 11:30 AM Hunger, Homeless, and the BC Student
FLEX # 754.7
How can you help your students find the services that will contribute to their academic success? This workshop will go over the CalFresh outreach, what is available in the Roadrunner Hub, and the Basic Need services available to Homeless Students. Information and training on the Roadrunner Rise Camp Fire Emergency Assistance Grant and the Chancellor’s Office Housing Programs and how you can utilize this service to help your students in crisis will be presented. Please join us in addressing the issues that affect our students and discuss how we can better serve them.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM CANCELED - Colleague/aka Datatel – The new hire training you never received
FLEX # 754.8
This training will focus on the foundation of the system we use every day.  Topics will include, how to ask for help when you get stuck, what to do if your screen freezes, shortcuts to make your data entry more efficient, where to go to find out how to use a screen or process. We will briefly talk about saved lists, context cards, hold files (private/shared/public) and process handler (scheduling jobs). We will also go over the Test system and how you access it, maintenance and patching (it’s important you know a little), manuals (yes there is a manual for most areas), the online support center and how to access it for community based help, a brief discussion of Self-Service and any more topics that come up. I will leave time for Q&A and am willing to discuss most IT questions, although I ask we keep them general in nature not job or screen specific.
