9:00 AM - 3:00 PM | Amalgam I Isabella K. Saavedra is an artist and indigiqueer person (Pit River Madesi +
Salvadorenx) based in Portland, Oregon. Originally from Oroville, CA,
Saavedra attended Butte College before transferring to Southern Oregon
University to earn a B.S. in Art. After working at the Oregon Shakespeare
Festival as a props artisan, Saavedra moved to Portland and is now a studio
assistant at Marie Watt Studio. Saavedra’s practice is an amalgam of
painting, sculpture, and textiles that investigates personal history, ancestry,
daydream, and collective experiences. The selection of work on view is from
two ongoing series: Sardine Cans and Remnants. These series utilize found
and discarded materials and record the artist’s “NOW-isms” | Main Campus |
