11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Healthy Relationships Week - Healthy Queer Relationships

An overview of basic components of healthy relationships in a Queer context. Highlighting differences between healthy and unhealthy relationship practices and behaviors. Shows how people in Queer relationships can support, affirm each other and create solids relationship foundations.

The Butte-Glenn Community College District is governed by its seven-member, locally elected Board of Trustees and a student board member. The board is responsible for the educational, physical, and financial well-being of the district. 

The Board of Trustees holds a regular public meeting once a month during the academic year. Regular board meetings convene at 1 p.m. in the Board Room, Student Administrative Services building (SAS 360), 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville, CA 95965, unless otherwise posted.

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM Healthy Relationships Week - Cultivating a Healthy Relationship with Yourself through Mindfulness Practice

Healthy Relationships Week - Learn how to create healthy relationships with others, by taking "time-in" and investing in yourself through mindfulness practice. The workshop will be interactive, while providing guided practice for participants who wish to learn a variety of mindfulness exercises.

The RealResilience workshop series is based on the idea that resilient individuals and communities are the result of healthy relationships. Lots and lots of healthy relationships. The goal of this workshop series, therefore, is to remind people how to relate to both themselves AND each other in ways that promote the dignity of all parties involved. Presented by Devjani (Juni) Banerjee-Stevens, PhD

Guiding Questions that We’ll Address:
• Can trauma really be passed down genetically?
• How does this impact communities?
• How might this explain systematic oppression?
• What motivates families and/or communities to minimize intergenerational trauma?
