Join us for Safe Zone 1 training on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Center for Excellence. The Safe Zone program is a 3-hour introductory training that invites participants to learn about LGBTQ+ issues, provide resources, and create a supportive environment for LGBTQ+ students, faculty and staff exploring issues of sexual identity, gender identity, and gender expression. To RSVP, email the IDEA Office at idea@butte.edu.
Lunch will be provided at the end of the training.

The Butte-Glenn Community College District is governed by its seven-member, locally elected Board of Trustees and a student board member. The board is responsible for the educational, physical, and financial well-being of the district.

The Board of Trustees holds a regular public meeting once a month during the academic year. Regular board meetings convene at 1 p.m. in the Board Room, Student Administrative Services building (SAS 360), 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville, CA 95965, unless otherwise posted.

Agenda’s containing a brief description of each item of business is posted at the district office and on the district’s website 72 hours before regular meetings and 24 hours before a special meeting. The current board meeting agenda and archived agendas are viewable at on our website.

The Open for Anti-Racism program (OFAR) is a year-long program that guides faculty on the discovery of open educational resources (OER) and open pedagogy as tools for developing antiracist teaching practices and materials. With open pedagogy, faculty collaborate with students to include student voices in our course curriculum. Students are not just consumers of knowledge, but also producers and co-owners of the knowledge they acquire. Butte College faculty that completed the OFAR program during the 2022-2023 academic year will share examples of open pedagogy projects they have incorporated into their courses and resources you can explore to learn more about open pedagogy.
