Addressing the unique needs of students from diverse backgrounds is one of the major challenges facing community college education. For instance, students attempting to change their names to align with their identity while attending Butte may feel isolated in a traditionally designed classroom. But with a few minor changes, classrooms can be transformed into an inclusive and inviting environment. In this presentation, you will learn how information about the Chosen Name Project, Queer Resource Center, and Open Educational Resources can be included in your syllabus and course content to help students in and out of your classroom. |
