| Butte County Seeks Input on the PowerButte Solar Overlay Zone |

Event Description:
The Butte County Department of Development Services announces three upcoming Community Meetings for the PowerButte Solar Overlay Zone program. PowerButte is a grant funded Butte County initiative to encourage large scale solar energy development in suitable locations in Butte County. Large scale solar energy facilities are defined as facilities ranging in size from ten to potentially several hundred acres that provide power directly to a utility. Three Community Workshops are scheduled in Chico, Butte Valley and Oroville as follows:

The Community Meetings will continue an ongoing community discussion about the future of large scale solar energy development in the unincorporated area of Butte County, and will introduce potential locations for the proposed Solar Overlay Zone. The County is seeking a diversity of viewpoints on this important new program. Butte County staff and consultants will be on hand to answer questions and will help facilitate this community discussion.
