Join us for an evening of jazz at Butte College, featuring the Butte College Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Ryan Heimlich. This concert is set to highlight the diverse talents within our large and small jazz ensembles, along with standout performances from our student soloists. Each piece on the program has been chosen for its personal significance to the musicians, offering a lineup that's as meaningful as it is melodious.

In a special collaboration, we're also proud to present the Pleasant Valley High School Jazz Ensemble, directed by Troy Symington, as our guest performers. This partnership bridges the gap between high school and college jazz, showcasing the continuity and growth within our local music community.

Butte College invites you to leave a mark on the new science building and planetarium. The Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff will be on hand to sign their names on a beam that will become part of the building. This project is funded by Measure J, a $190 million bond measure approved by voters in November 2016, and the state's Physical Plant and Instructional Support Block Grant

The Butte-Glenn Community College District is governed by its seven-member, locally elected Board of Trustees and a student board member. The board is responsible for the educational, physical, and financial well-being of the district.

The Board of Trustees holds a regular public meeting once a month during the academic year. Regular board meetings convene at 1 p.m. in the Board Room, Student Administrative Services building (SAS 360), 3536 Butte Campus Drive, Oroville, CA 95965, unless otherwise posted.

Agenda’s containing a brief description of each item of business is posted at the district office and on the district’s website 72 hours before regular meetings and 24 hours before a special meeting. The current board meeting agenda and archived agendas are viewable at on our website.

SPRING 2024 LAST DAY TO DROP FOR A "W" WITH INSTRUCTORS SIGNATURE
Last day students can drop Spring 2024 classes for a "W" to appear on transcripts WITH an instructor's approval for serious and compelling reasons sent to admissions@butte.edu. After 4/19, students must see a Counselor to petition for late withdrawal from Spring 2024 classes. Courses beginning on a day other than 1/22 and/or ending on a day other than 5/24 may have earlier or later withdrawal dates.

for a mesmerizing evening as the Butte College Choir, under the direction of Luke Nicolay and accompanied by Erika Ray, brings to life the enchanting music from beloved movies, iconic games, and celebrated musicals-turned-movies. This one-night-only concert will transport you through the whimsical tunes of Disney's "Toy Story," the vibrant beats of "Mamma Mia!", the epic soundscapes of "Halo", the classic melodies of "Funny Girl,", and much more. 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Table Mountain Hike

FLEX # 66.1

What: Come join Symbiotic Solutions Club on an interpretive hike of table mountain. We will hike 4-5 miles over 3 to 3.5 hours. The pace will be very casual as we stop frequently to marvel at the water falls and identify the flowers. Friends and Family welcome.

When: April 19th from 2-6 PM

Where:

  • Coming from Chico? Meet at chico park-n-ride by highway 99 and 32 (eastern most lot). We will carpool from chico to table mountain.

  • Coming from Paradise/Magalia? Meet at Terry Ashe Park in Paradise at 2:00 PM.

  • Prefer to drive yourself? Meet us at Table Mountain at  ~2:40 PM.  

Cost: We are exempt from the use fee since this is an educational hike.

What to bring: Wear sturdy enclosed shoes. Long sleeves/pants and a brimmed hat are recommended for sun protection and poison oak protection. Bring water and snacks in a small back pack.

Join us in the Butte College Arts Theatre for a captivating evening as the Butte College Symphonic Band, led by Ryan Heimlich, presents a concert that celebrates the rich musical traditions of Mexico, Spain, Argentina, the United States, and Puerto Rico. The program will feature a diverse array of compositions with unique melodies, rhythms, and harmonies that characterize the music of each region. We are also excited to welcome guest artists Mariachi Corcel, who will perform their own set and will then combine with the Symphonic Band.

We hope you will join us for what will be sure to be a fantastic evening of music!
