2021-2022 CCCSFAAA Scholarship
The California Community Colleges Student Financial Aid Administrators Association (CCCSFAAA) is again sponsoring student scholarships during the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of ten $500 student scholarships. Additionally, there is one $1,000 scholarship from the “Marianna Deeken, Well it Depends” scholarship fund.

What is the Criteria?
The following criteria must be met in order to apply for the CCCCSFAAA Scholarship: 

1. Student must be enrolled in at least 6 units for Spring 2022 
2. Have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 
3. Have remaining need of at least $1,000 which the Financial Aid Office will determine. 
4. Applied for State and/or Federal Financial Aid

How can I Apply?
It's simple to apply, just fill out the online application and be prepared to type a 2-4 paragraph statement explaining:

•    Any special circumstances and/or unusual hardship you have had;
•    Your educational and career goals, and why you have chosen these goals; and
•     Any community involvement activities or leadership roles which you may have had.

Don’t miss a wonderful opportunity to gain critical information that can decrease new instructor stress! 9-10:20am. The CTE Caucus is a new idea from the Academic Senate Exec. We hope to build a stronger CTE faculty voice in shared governance, to inform faculty on initiatives, committees, and task forces impacting CTE areas, and to identify issues of common concern. We hope that this time during FLEX Week will be friendly to your schedules and allow you to engage with the Senate in a new and effective way.

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Book in Common: How to Be an Antiracist

9-9:50am. Ibram X. Kendi's concept of antiracism reenergizes and reshapes the conversation about racial justice in America--but even more fundamentally, points us toward liberating new ways of thinking about ourselves and each other. Instead of working with the policies and system we have in place, Kendi asks us to think about what an antiracist society might look like, and how we can play an active role in building it.
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM Polling Classroom Responses with Poll Everywhere

9-10:20am.  Ever wonder if you are getting through to your students in the moment? Classroom Response Systems (CRS) allow you to pose questions to your students on the fly so that they can answer with their mobile devices using wifi or text. Responses can be shown immediately and used to inform in the moment pedagogical decisions. Come join Michelle Kelley and Mike Matiasek from the Academic Technology Committee who will introduce to you the basics of CRS’s and how to use Poll tool in the Zoom platform and the Poll Everywhere CRS platform that has a free option. We will finish with a hands on session so you leave the session knowing how to create polls in Poll Everywhere. We will also mention a related assessment tool, PlayPosit.

Join us for this series based on the book by Becky Bailey, PhD who is also the author of Conscious Discipline. Parents and caregivers will learn the 7 basic discipline skills and 7 powers for self-control that turn conflict into cooperation.
