FLEX #702.1
In 2008, various campus constituents came together and put together a plan to make a more sustainable and functional ag yard for students to learn how to operate heavy equipment. At the same time, they designed features to filter storm water runoff coming off of parking lot 4. In 2012, the first Bioswale was installed adjacent to Parking Lot 4. Fast forward to 2017, when a brand new additional Bioswale and redesigned ag yard was built by Butte College Ag department and students. Come see the finished product of this multi-year project. We will take you on a tour of the ag yard and Bioswales (outside) and talk about bioremediation of the parking lot runoff (inside.) Since a portion of this session will be outside, please dress appropriately for a hot sunny day (hat, sunblock, water, and sturdy shoes.)
