Event Description:
FLEX # 106
1-1:50pm. Grades have been a part of our educational experience since kindergarten. But what do they really measure? What is the difference between grading students and assessing learning? This introductory workshop on developing and adjusting the learning assessments in your class from an equitable lens is the first part of a larger, semester-long series of group discussions during the Fall 2020 semester whose theme will be the application of the Grading for Equity book in our courses. Throughout this series, we will also discuss assessment strategies that promote learning and why these strategies are particularly important for marginalized student populations.

Strategic Initiatives:
1. Enhancing a Culture of Completion and Goal Achievement
2. Supporting Student, Faculty, and Staff Success
3. Using Data-Informed Processes for Continuous Improvement
4. Maximizing Resources to Support Student Learning
6. Enhancing a Culture of Equity and Inclusiveness
