A survivor-led Camp Fire support group where we can get real about the logistics and trauma we endure. We will discuss immediate needs, as well as the long-term challenges of housing and restarting our lives. This will be a place for us to share, strategize, and heal. We need a community of folks who have also lost their homes to lean on one another and help solve problems together. This event will take place every Wednesday.

37th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition
The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to announce the highly anticipated Juried Student Art Exhibition. The work will be on display from May 6th to May 21st, 2019 in the Butte College Art Gallery. A reception will take place on Thursday, May 9th 4-6 pm. The awards ceremony is at 5 pm. Food and refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
This annual show is always worth a visit to the Art Building. Work includes painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital media, multimedia/film, sculpture, glass, fiber, fashion, textiles, ceramics, laser cut/etched and CNC-created. Each piece is chosen for excellence in aesthetic quality. Awards will be given for Best in Show, Best in Category, Honorable Mentions, and Purchase Awards. Butte’s Gallery Production course is hanging the show with teacher Rebecca Shelly. Judges this year are two local artists, Rebecca Wallace and Josh Funk.

The Butte College Fashion Department presents its annual Spring Fashion Show on Friday, May 10, 2019 in the ARTS Theater at Butte College main campus. The title of this year’s fashion show is “Butte in Bloom: a fashion show fundraiser” and will be showcasing designs from Butte College Fashion students and select local retailers. The show will begin at 7:00 p.m.  Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for silent auction bidding and a fashion marketplace where students and participating vendors will be displaying information and/or selling their wares. A portion of proceeds will be donated to students, faculty, and staff affected by the Camp Fire.

 

Tickets are available now for $7 for students, $15 general, and $25 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online through https://www.eventbrite.com/, and at the Butte College Office of Student Life (Campus Center rm 145, main campus).
