Students who attend the Butte County Office of Education's After
School Programs will participate at the 10th Annual "Kids Challenge" held
at Butte College. A total of 23 schools and 500 students
throughout Butte County will be participating.
Students arrive at 1:45 p.m. and receive a tour of the campus by tour
guides from the college. Following the tour, students will enter the
gym to receive a welcome from Butte County Superintendent Tim Taylor and
Butte College President, Dr. Samia Yaqub. There will also be a
special appearance by the Butte College Roadrunner, "Dash" who has some
surprises up his sleeves. The
event helps promote the benefits of attending college to students at an
earlier age.
