Dr. Joy DeGruy is a renowned researcher, educator and author of the book, Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome - America's Legacy of Enduring Injury and Healing which addresses the residual impacts of trauma on African descendants in the Americas. Her work examines the conditions that led to the Atlantic slave trade and allowed the pursuant racism and efforts at repression to continue through present day. | |

Dr. Joy believes that “truthfulness is the foundation of all human virtue.” This workshop aims at guiding us toward unlocking our own truths by critically evaluating history, medicine, science and education. Dr. DeGruy shares her strategies for healing as well as encouraging others to discover their own.
