6:00 PM - 9:00 PM The Mind, The Brain, and Human Relationships
In the 1990's, Dr. Dan Siegel noticed that linguists, anthropologists and psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists and others working in the field of mental health had never had a working definition of either the mind or health. This realization started Dr. Siegel down a research path that led him to develop a new field of study: Interpersonal neurobiology. In the 12-week class we will use concepts of interpersonal neurobiology to help us understand our minds and the minds of others. We will discuss dealing with complexity, strengthening attachment relationships, memory and stress management in trauma, and much more.
