All Day Run for Student Government (Multi-Day Event)

The application period to run for Butte College Student Government is now open through March 30! Download the application from the Student Life website and turn into the Office of Student Life no later than March 30, 2018! No experience is necessary to apply - just a passion to represent and support students!
Students involved in Butte College student government gain important leadership skills that allow them to represent students, create positive changes on campus, and help other students achieve their goals and initiatives. Student government officers sit on campus-wide committees and are valuable voices in campus decision making processes.
Student government officers receive the following compensation
- $450 - $1,350 semester stipend (depending on position)
- Staff parking pass
- Paid training retreats
Minimum Qualifications to Run for Student Government
- Maintain a 2.0 GPA
- Enrolled in at least 5 units at Butte College
- Completed at least 1 semester (9 units) at the time of application
- Not employed by the Butte College Student Life Office
-Able to attend Board Meetings - every Tuesday from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

All Day Business Idea Contest (Multi-Day Event)
The best businesses begin as a solution to a problem!
The Business Idea Competition (hosted by the Butte Start Up’s Club) is designed to help you turn your solution into what may become your own business. You will gather skills through this process that will be very valuable to you as an entrepreneur.

WHO CAN ENTER?
• Students may enter from any department on the Butte Campus
• Students must be enrolled in at least 1 class at Butte College (online or face to face)
• Submissions are limited to companies/ideas in a PRE-SALES stage of development (beta sales are acceptable).

WHAT CAN I WIN?
• The top TWO winners of the Spring 2018 Business Concept Competition will win prizes
o 1st Place: GoPro HERO 5 ($300 value)
o 2nd Place: Beats By Dr. Dre Pill+ Wireless Speaker ($150 value)
• Also, these 2 winners will qualify for the Finals of The Future Four & More Competition—
o This event will be held Friday, April 27th at Humboldt State University. This is an event with 6-8 schools from across the country competing.
