The Glass House Series by John C. Roll
March 9 – April 9, 2015
Reception: Thursday March 12, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
This series is an exploration into the overlapping elements of sculpture and architecture—glass houses, specifically. The pieces are born out of the artist’s fascination with light, reflections and transparency.
Each sculpture is an aesthetic fragment made up of identifiable parts that describe a particular profession. All of the professions represented here are ones that John Roll has either performed, aspired to, or supported.
John received his MA from CSU Chico after a beginning his career in carpentry and welding. He currently resides in Santa Rosa, where he paints and makes prints, in addition to sculptures. | |
