Ten Week Developing Capable Young People
This is a 1o week series. Developing Capable Young People is a phenomenal parenting series created and developed by H. Stephen Glenn. The premise of this parenting approach is to work with youth's perceptions of themselves and the world. Giving youth the messages: You Are Significant, You Are Capable, You Have Influence and You Are Needed, truly can change a youth's life for the better! Come learn how to apply this model of parenting and influence your own life as well.

This is an 8 week series. Positive Discipline includes skill for practical application to help youth stop misbehaving and teach them self-discipline, responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving. Jane Nelsen, Ed.D. author of Positive Discipline, approaches parenting in a comprehensive, fast-paced and fun way that makes sense!

Spring 2020 Financial Aid Freeze Date
The Spring 2020 semester FREEZE DATE is February 10, 2020. Students must be officially enrolled in into all courses BEFORE THE FREEZE DATE in order to be considered payable units for financial aid. In this inclusive conversation, we'll talk about representations of HIV/AIDS in contemporary poetry. How have these social shifts, along with individual experiences of HIV, been represented in poems? What poetic techniques show up in this particular body of literature? What can we detect in these poems and what remains unknown? What influence might these poets have on us as creative thinkers in 2020? This event is for everyone—you don't need any prior background in creative writing or in the legacies of HIV. Bring your curiosity, your empathy, a notebook, and a pen. Free optional HIV testing afterward.

Chinese Student and Scholar Association Club Meeting
This association is for uniting Chinese students at Butte College. Members in the association not only help Chinese students achieve their academic successes but also help other countries' students learn Chinese and accumulate more knowledge about Chinese culture. Members will help Chinese language learners improve language skills and introduce Chinese culture as conversation partners once every two weeks. Students who participate in the Chinese language course will be invited when the Chinese Student Association has activities such as traditional Chinese festivals.
