Ten Week Developing Capable Young People
This is a 1o week series. Developing Capable Young People is a phenomenal parenting series created and developed by H. Stephen Glenn. The premise of this parenting approach is to work with youth's perceptions of themselves and the world. Giving youth the messages: You Are Significant, You Are Capable, You Have Influence and You Are Needed, truly can change a youth's life for the better! Come learn how to apply this model of parenting and influence your own life as well.
9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Nurturing Parenting Program-Skills For Families
This is a 10 week series. Nurturing is the ability to care for and foster growth in us and others. We all need to be nurtured - to receive understanding, respect, recognition, warmth, praise, security, limits and appropriate expectations. Parents who learn "Nurturing Parenting" is developed from a strong philosophical; basis that supports the growth and development of parent and youth as caring people who treat themselves, others with respect and dignity. Relax the fear center of your brain and improve your focus with some of these fun pastime activities proven to reduce stress! Come alone or bring a friend!

Let the Games Begin - Board Games out for all to enjoy!
Grab a friend (or meet someone new!) and head down to Safe Place or the Queer Resource Center. Both Centers will have games and cards out for students to come enjoy!

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Stress Less Fest: Vision Board Activity
A new year can bring new dreams, goals, and inspirations! Creating a vision board is a crafty and powerful way to visualize all the amazing things you want to accomplish. Use your vision board as a daily reminder of all you want to be and to hold yourself accountable to your goals! Join us in the Campus Center Lounge for a free, drop-in, vision board workshop. All materials will be free and first-come, first-serve.  Attendees are welcome to bring personal items or clippings that they would like to use.

10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Butte College Art Gallery Beyond the Year

The Butte College Art Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition by muralist, Shane Grammer.  This exhibition will be on display from November 7 – December 12, 2019, in the Butte College Art Gallery on the Main Campus

Shane Grammer is a Los Angeles based painter and muralist who made a name for himself during the aftermath of the California Camp fire. Grammer frequented the ruins of the Paradise, CA fire and created prolific and inspirational murals amongst the wreckage. Primarily portrait based, Grammer’s work populated the open walls and chimneys of what were homes and businesses before the fire erupted.

 

Shane Grammer has joined Butte College in the Butte College Art Gallery in the remembrance and celebration of the fire in “Beyond the Year.” Images of his mural work will be represented in the gallery and he will be speaking about this work and his journey and process at 5:00p.m.

 

Please join us by coming together to celebrate Shane Grammer, his contribution to our community and his artwork in the Butte College Art Gallery Thursday November 7, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public and will present live music, food and refreshments.

 

The Butte College Art Gallery is located on the main Butte College campus, 3536 Campus Drive, in the new ARTS Building (ARTS 106) closest to parking lot 3. Gallery Hours: Monday & Wednesday 10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. & Tuesday & Thursday 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. For more information, contact the Butte College Department of Art, Digital Art & Design, 530-895-2404.
