Event Description: FLEX # 652.1
This is a Diversity Committee presentation for Native American Month. Ishi was found nearly starved in a rural area near Oroville, CA in 1911. He is said to be the last survivor of his tribe following a program of genocide initiated by European settlers in Native American lands. The movie will be followed by a discussion focused on the changing ecology in this landscape following the loss of the native people. |
