As you all know, Marc Cardinet, our full-time Sculpture tech, retired last semester. Marc is now devoting his time to creating art and recently had a one-man show in Sacramento.

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM Resiliency Zone Awareness Series: Empathy

The Training Place is offering a series of free two-hour, interactive Resiliency Zone Training workshops in October. All employees are invited to learn about the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach while at work or at home. Workshops are from 9-11:00am, and titles include Resiliency Zone Awareness on October 1, Self-Care on October 8, Empathy on October 13, and Stress Mastery on October 21.
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Healthy Relationships Week - Everyone Deserves a Safe and Healthy Relationship
This presentation along with health information and resources, will explore: what a healthy relationship looks like, healthy sexual relationships, and identifying red flags of unhealthy relationships. Lastly, you will learn the importance of self-worth which develops confidence, respect, and boundaries. 

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Archiving and Preservation Workshop for Latinx Heritage Month by Rachel Arteaga

Because Latinx heritage is both incredibly diverse and indelibly part of the American story, there is great value in preserving our heritage. But where do you start? Whether you have few items to preserve or an excessive amount to sort through, this presentation will serve as an introduction to preserving your unique heritage. Topics covered include oral and written histories, physical preservation practices, and sharing your story with a wider audience. Everyone is welcome, as you are sure to learn something about starting your preservation journey.

Rachel Arteaga has been a librarian since 2011. After graduating, she worked for several years in the archival field. She is currently an associate faculty Reference, Instruction, and OER Librarian at Butte College.
