Start Day 2014 CELT Conference (Multi-Day Event)

Registration Now Open for the 20th Annual CELT Conference at Chico State October 1 – 3.  California State University, Chico Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) would like to invite the faculty and staff of Butte College to the 20th Annual CELT Conference, October 1-3, on the CSU, Chico campus.  You are invited to join the CSU, Chico faculty, staff and students in participating in a full schedule of CELT conference sessions that address student engagement, successful pedagogies, critical inquiry, intensive writing, collaborative and service-based learning, investigative research, wellness and more.  The 2014 CELT Conference theme, “High Impact Practices: Engaging the Whole Student,” highlights sessions that address student engagement, successful pedagogies, critical inquiry, intensive writing, collaborative and service-based learning, investigative research and more.  The CELT Conference kicks off with the annual Faculty Awards Luncheon and Conference Keynote Address, Wednesday, October 1, 2014, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., BMU.  Jillian Kinzie, Ph.D., will present the CELT Conference Keynote, “The Promise of High-Impact Practices: Pedagogies and Practices that Foster Student Learning & Success.”  Jillian Kinzie is the National Institute for Learning Outcomes Assessment Senior Scholar and Associate Director of the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research and the National Survey of Student Engagement Institute at Indiana University.  In addition to presenting the keynote address, Jillian Kinzie will also host two special event workshops—one for faculty and staff, and the other specifically designed for students.  The conference and luncheon are complimentary. Please note that the Faculty Awards Luncheon and Keynote and the conference special events require advance registration.  Please extend this invitation to your colleagues and students. 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM Computer Science Club PC Tune-up!
The Computer Science Club will be accepting your PCs and laptops for a tune-up. Suggested $10 donation for our club funding! Bring in your laptops and towers and we'll have the rest, make sure you plan to pick them up by the end of the event at 3 p.m.

Need help with your application? Sign up for a CSU  "Finishers" workshop. During the  "Finishers" workshop we will guide you through the questions that you could not finish on your own. These workshops are designed so that you will have successfully completed and sent the application by the time the workshop is over! CSU "Finishers" workshops are offered ONLY during the priority filing months when Butte College is in session.
