FLEX # 383
We know that students who feel more connected to their college are more likely to be retained, persist from semester to semester, and complete their academic goals. At Butte College we've long had many ways, both formal and informal, of helping students feel this connection. Now, funded by the Chancellor's Office, we have been approved
for the "Caring Campus" framework which is designed to create and cultivate caring environments through the intentional inclusion of all staff in student success efforts. It's good news for faculty as we "grow together" in support of our students. Attend this presentation to see how Caring Campus will benefit you and your work with students!

Dr. RGK, along with colleague Dr. Estela Zarate, developed an online institute for faculty that focuses on evidence-based teaching and interaction strategies that draw
on first-generation college students' strengths (FGCS). This work is based on Chávez and Longerbeam's (2016) cultural framework from Teaching Across Cultural Strengths.
